FMG Support is the UK’s leading independent fleet performance improvement specialist. Achieving huge growth
Established in 1986, FMG Support has enjoyed significant exponential growth, expanding from 161 employees in 2004 to nearly 360 in 2009. Despite facing the toughest market for 100 years, FMG Support has achieved 100% growth, with turnover flourishing from £29m in 2004 to £73m in 2007 and £75m in 2009. FMG Support received investment in 2008 from private equity firm Spirit Capital to fund its growth plans and invest in its infrastructure and service offering.
As a growing Yorkshire business and the second largest employer in Huddersfield, FMG Support recognises that its people are incredibly important to commercial success. FMG Support has received planning permission for the expansion of its head offices in central Huddersfield, and the development of FMG Support will be a great example of a market leading business working together with a Local Authority to promote regional growth. The new premises underline both the importance and potential of Huddersfield within Yorkshire as a base for one of the fleet industry’s leading players.
Nick Brown, chief executive, FMG Support, commented: “Over the last 24 years, FMG Support has grown from a small regional business to an industry-leading organisation operating on a national commercial level. Despite the current economic downturn, Huddersfield is thriving as a place to do business and we are very pleased to be able to contribute towards the region as well as raising its profile further.”
Mark Scanlon, managing director at FMG Support, said: “Our success in nurturing loyal customer relationships and delivering significant results for our customers is a key factor in our expansion, alongside our employees, whose commitment and engagement enable us to go from strength to strength. We are looking forward to the future and will continue to develop FMG Support’s position as a leading player in the fleet industry, whilst growing our team in Huddersfield.”
