The Media Centre’s environmentally friendly double-skinned building was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen on 24th May 2007.
Based in the town centre, the Media Centre first opened in 1995 and has grown immeasurably since then; opening three further buildings including live-work studios, and the innovative Friendly Street building which is an award-winning example of sustainable construction.
With over 120 office spaces, The Media Centre is home to nearly 60 businesses with a further 70 businesses making use of the centre's virtual office services. The centre is home to a wide variety of creative businesses, from national arts support organisations to innovative web development companies.
