FACT:
W.T. Johnson & Sons, created the world’s most expensive suit at a staggering £70,000

Established in 1910 when Foreman Finisher Walter Thomas Johnson decided to use his skills to set up his own company, WTJohnson & Son has built a reputation of outstanding quality for its specialist finishing of cloth.  Still based in its original premises at Bankfield Mills just outside Huddersfield, the company has grown under the skills and guidance of successive generations of the Johnson family, and is today led by the founder’s grandsons, Paul and Dan.

The company cites the very special combination of supremely soft water, together with the region’s  combination of cool climate and high relative humidity as a key factor in their success – something they call the ‘Huddersfield factor’, and a fabric finisher’s dream.Cloth from WT Johnson & son has graced the frame of many powerful people and celebrities – and the firm clims the honour of supplying the fabric for the world’s most expensive suit.
